Rebecca Garcia
I received my B.S. in Biology from Texas Tech University along with a Minor in Chemistry. Attended graduate school at the University of Texas at El Paso and continued at Texas Tech University receiving my graduate credit hours in education and biology. I did student teaching in the Friendship Independent School District just outside of Lubbock Texas.
I have been teaching Science at Austin High School for 15 years and have taught a variety of classes including Biology, Physical Science, Integrated Physics and Chemistry, and Anatomy and Physiology. I have attended Forensic workshops and have integrated some of what I learned into my classes. I have also used my knowledge to assist in the yearly mock crime scene investigation put on by the criminal justice academy forensic classes for several years.
I am honored to be chosen as a new forensics teacher for the academy.
